I am sick of the ABS/TRACTION light coming on once i reach about 20-30 km/h

It pretty much comes on everytime around the same time each time.. give or take a couple days were it doesnt come on. BUt about 95% it comes on @ 30 km/h

I need some help. I have looked @ other posts about this topic. But i cant find what im looking for.

Does anyone have any tips/pics of the wheel sensors.
Im gonna try and just clean them all up and apply some dielectic grease to them and see what that does.

Much Thanks.

Don't put dielectric grease on the sensors!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just clean them up and call it good.

You might want to have the ABS codes pulled while you're at it. It could be something else.

First picture:
Front
You'll see the sensor on the outside (wheel side) of the spindle hovering over a gear looking thing with teeth. ABS sensors work based on magnetic induction pick-up, you really don't want to put any sort of anything on them, as they may not be able to see the teeth on the ring.

Second Pic - Rear. They are a bit harder to see, but I promise, they are there.

What would be the best way to clean those ?
Just a rag and start cleaning?
Or is there a spray cleaner i should use?

You put the grease in the wire connectors, not on the sensor itself. The idea is to let the grease insulate the connection, so water can't get in and short out the pins.

I've always used brake cleaner and a soft bristle brush. Then, once it's all nice and shiny, you COULD apply a bit of WD40 (or some other water repellant) on the sensor, but it really isn't necesary. Just wipe it with a damp cloth to get any brake cleaner residue off the sensor, then wipe it with a dry cloth to get the moisture off of it. The water cleaning isn't really necessary, but I believe in doing it rigth.

You will have more luck if you take the front sensors off and clean them that way. Remember, you don't really have to clean the whole sensor, just the part that hovers over the ABS ring. Try not to get any brake cleaner on the sensor harness. It ain't gonna destroy it, but you know how that goes...

The rears, same thing. Though, IIRC they are a bit more fun to take out.

J-miles, maybe I'm wrong, (I haven't had to replace one yet), but aren't those sealed connectors? AKA, you have to replace the whole sensor and harness? Someone chime in here if you've replaced an ABS sensor before.

I had the same thing happening since I bought the car about a year ago and the original owner had it at a Lincoln dealer about the problem but they didn't fix it so I left it for awhile and cleaned up the gear like things but no luck. Two days ago I finally removed the driver's wheel well cowling and low and behold the relay was disconnected!!!! I cleaned both the connector and relay with DEOXIT contact cleaner and connected them up and put it back together and worked like a charm so it was an easy fix, just pissed at myself for waiting so long to look at it but I figured that the Lincoln didn't fix it so something really had to be screwed up with it. The guy had Lincoln do a brake job so they had to disconnect it and after buttoning it up didn't want to take it apart again. Hope you are this lucky.:)

Mine does the same thing. Once I hit 20 mph or spin the tires, boom, ABS light and Traction off. I just figured it was a problem with the sensors like Frogman said. Never got around to messing with it yet because it doesn't bother me too much...yet. One of these days though...

After reading all the replys i said i would take a look at everything today.
Last night i took the car out for a ride. And the light didnt come on at all. I was hammering the gas. No light. Wake up this morning , drive the car to work. 30 km/h light comes on. i just got done cleanin the rears. got baseball then cleanin the fronts. see how everything is after

The sensor comes with a wire attached to it. If moisture is causing a short at the connector, you can dry out the the connector, then fill it with dielectric grease before reconnecting it. The grease will keep moisture from getting to the pins again.

is that a front sensor or a rear? or do all for of them look the same.

I was cleaning out the back ones. they are pretty tricky to get at
