Quick question on the Mark VII

Do all Mark VII's from 1984 to 1992 come with anti-lock brakes?

I noticed that they talk about them in the owners manual. In most of the cars that I have owned with ABS brakes an idiot light lights up somewhere on the dash.

I noticed that there is an idiot light on my '85 but it doesn't light up when I start my Mark.

Is this an option that I don't have or does this light light up only when their is an issue with the ABS system?

Yes, your car has anti-lock brakes, standard on all Mark VII's.
Your light should be on when the key is in the on postion before starting.
This is a test position for the idiot lights, if it does not come on it might
be burned out, or have been removed previously due to a brake problem
someone did not want to deal with.

I'm not sure of the location of the lights on an 84-89 model. But regardless
of location they should be on in the test position. On my 91 the "anti-lock"
& "brake" light are on the dash just left of the radio.

My BAD!

I apologize mespock.

And pro I have read it, it opens:
"Yes, the Mark VII was first American car with 4-channel anti-lock brakes"
But although being the first, I realize now that the "first" ones did not have
it.

crawling back into my hole now:frown:

but :L:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
