So I purchased the "solid" mounts on eBay.

Um, how the heck are these suppose to go in? I took the OEM one out. There is no way that these new ones can go in. The threads on the shock absorber go half way down the shaft, not all the way.

I saw no way to get these in and put the OEM back in.

help!

I've never seen the solid ones except on ebay.

But all I ever do for shock mounts is clean out the rubber bushings and use the new bushings that come with the new shocks. Has worked on two of my Mark VIIIs (93 and 94) and lasted longer than the OEM mounts that I had put in my 95 (which I'm changing as I get my new compressor and do some air ride work on my 95. Already have the Monroes ready do go in).

I got a set of the solid mounts, They just bolted right in place as far as I remember. Then the shock mount goes up through the middle hole.

The mount goes stud side up into the trunk & you tighten the nuts in the trunk. I'm pretty sure thats how they went on. It's been about 2 years now & my memory is ok but not great.

Ya... so I called where I was working on the car. He was like "oops, yup there was a bag of stuff with the shocks."

So when I was working on them I had no bushings and stuff.... that explains A LOT.
