? about color of 03 HID lights

I've noticed that my 03 HID lights are are nice crisp white color on low beam but when I switch to high beams the light they throw has a bit of a yellow tint to the very center of the pattern.

I just want to be sure this sounds correct and I haven't had my stock bulbs changed (second owner at 22k).

High beams are not HID so the color should definitely be yellower than your low-beams.

Are there any "better" bulbs available for the hi beams that would be a better color match?

I've seen the ones on ebay, and even at Walmart. I know my local advance auto has silverstar bulbs on special this week, but I haven't tried any of them.

get the hoen xenonmatch for your high's from ken. they are supposed to match quite well. I prefer the yellow of the stock bulb. adds some contrast

The Silverstars are good bulbs, but in my opinion, the Hoen Xenonmatch Plus bulbs are better.

Well, since I've only had my LS for 2 weeks (and have been loving every minute ) maybe I can get away with a dumb question:

How can you tell if you have HID headlights ? i have the window sticker from my car, but it says nothing about HID headlights. I have a 2003 LS 6 Premium.

Quickest way to tell is open the hood and see if there is a yellow label on the top of the headlight. That is the HID warning label.
