This morning I start the car, the radio turns on (it's a little loud, must have been jamming on the way home yesterday) so I reach for the volume knob and give it a sharp jerk to the left, and the volume gets louder. No matter which way I turned the knob it got louder and louder till eventually it was at full blast and I had to turn it off! Ow.
I turned it back on a few seconds later and the knob worked fine. Always a surprise with the LS :D

that's funny, crazy, but funny, sorry about your ears...

you are right about surprises, i was driving in my LS this morning and every time I stepped on the gas pedal the car slowed down. every time I left off of it the car accelerated. i love these problems!

If it was on the steering column controls I would say get ready to invest in a new clock spring.

LOL! All this time I thought it was just me. That's happened to me a few times. I just decided (or keep telling myself) to just use the steering controls. Also, make sure that the acceleration/volume option on the radio is turned off. If it's on, the volume gets louder when you accelerate and lower when decelerate. I only use that option if I'm on a road trip since it's irritating when in local traffic and between lights.

That might be the "drive by wire" thing on the LS if I am not mistaken. Its less responsive from what I have heard.

BTW batMobile, My moms Town Car has that and I love it. It works perfect on her car, I only wished I had that on my Mark VIII

Oh good I'm not alone :) Yeah I do use the speed-volume feature, but this happened when I was still parked in the garage!

Is this the 6 disc in-dash radio? That one has some known software bugs when it comes to volume control. One of them is that it comes back way too loud after a phone call cuts off.

Yes that's the one I have. But I haven't had any other problems with it. (yet)
Well, that's not completely true, it has gone bonkers twice and refused to eject any CDs.
