A wonderful, awful idea.

I was just kicking back in my recliner and the image of a LS tucking 10.50 drag radials, skinnies and a cali' rake loping down the boulevard flashed through my head. Since I already have a '84 351W truck block laying round that needs a rebuild, I just got to wondering what it would be like building a barely streetable LS using some less subtle parts like a track-preped C6 and a 9" rear stuffed with 4:56 gears.

It'd really be less of a LS by the time it was done, but it should be scary.

Now I just need money....

you would need money, and probably would only be able to use the shell of the LS, nothing electrical would work properly. But I guess that wouldn't matter in a "barely streetable" LS, that would be a site to see.

I'm thinking "barely streetable" is an optimistic view. "Hardly streetable" or "almost streetable" seems more likely. :D Should be a hell of a thing if you can make it work.
