Well, you could have the chip implanted somewhere else, but that wouldn't help with the theft problem.

well if you need the chip to be near the car to start it, it would be hard to work around, also then it would be more things to fail.
You could have the power to the car controlled by the chip, so that with out it, the whole car would not have power. Obviously there would be a work around for thieves. They always find a way around, but it would make it time consuming and difficult.

The technology already exists and is in use on a lot of models. I'm only suggesting that the RF ID be implanted in me instead in the key fob. I have driven cars with push button start. You have to keep the fob with you, but you don't have to use it. I kept mine in my pocket. As long as it was there, the car would unlock when I touched the door handle, and it started when I pushed the start button. To me, the next step is not having to remember to put the fob in my pocket.

I know BMW and Infinity use it.
There was a story in the news not too long ago where some rich guy had 3 BMWs and left the fobs in each one. Someone stole them. Idiot didn't realize he should protect the fobs just like keys for other cars.
Honestly, a card I put in my walet would be just fine. Have the car check for the code for start up and for putting the car in gear.

Yes, that's a very good idea. You have to carry a license with you anyway. Just keep the card in the wallet with the driver's license.
I think that the systems today just check for the RF ID for start up. Some of the reasoning was that they didn't want to disable the car if you forget and left your fob hanging up at home near where the car was parked. You get a warning, and as long as you don't turn the engine off, you can turn around and go back for the fob.

I'd prefer the other way. Maybe you want to start the car, but you need to get out and check on something. Or maybe you want to stop at the gas station, and let it run so the dog isn't baking in the heat. Either way, a card sounds like the best way to go.

Including remote door lock/unlock?
It all works just like having a the old key and fob. The fob I received has all of the electronics included. The old fob has nothing to do with the new one. The new one is not a hollow case it is a completely new key and fob. All I had to do is have the two of them programed and it worked great, locks, panic and trunk even the windows!

Kool. Glad I was wrong then.
Hope your's lasts longer than mine did. Mine lasted all of 6 months before the spring broke.
I get 60 days to verify the quality, and I'll tell you this remote has a real solid feel to it!
Was it the exact same one or the other style?
I think im going to pick one up...but id prefer a lincoln logo.

Here's my new Key Fob... Got it yesterday.
It isn't bently-ish... but I prefer it much more. It even works my windows (up and down)
