Just found these on my computer and decided to post them.

Note: these are NOT me, just videos that I have downloaded over time off Mark VIII boards and sites, I give all the credit to the authors. (even though I can't remember who they all are)

... What an VIII can do with 4:10's

... Another one with 4:30's and open pipes

And Geno, I happened to have found this one of your TerminVIIIor before it was...

Once again, I give all the credit to the authors of these videos, I just personally thought they were awesome and fun to watch.

awesome videos, question though to all that can answer this, bigger gears = higher rpms? cause i notice that the first video, 1-2 about 6400 rpms, and the second clip i saw 1-2 was almost at 6900 rpms. because im all stock, and 1-2 in my mark8 is 6000 which is normal i hope...lol!

Higher gears=Higher RPM!

First video looks slow. . .

thanks sifrino, another question, since the higher gears and higher shifts, will that cause stress on the tranny?

Nice how changing gears but not speedo calibration can make a car "look" fast. The question I have is why does the engine over-rev? Doesn't the ECU utilize a rev-limiter, or shift the trans via an RPM table?

I agree. Videos of the speedo prove nothing. Let's see track times.
Also, what wheels were these running in addition to the gear swaps? It all effects the speedo and doesn't mean the car actually climbs that fast.

They clearly have ECU chips programmed to have the shift points higher and have the rev limiter raised also. I doubt gears alone would force the car to shift at a higher RPM.
