Along with my stupid alarm i have the factory in dash cd player and it happened once where it wouldnt play my cd. No errors or anything like that it would go thru the tracks but wouldnt play them. Then it worked soon after a week or two later it happened again but now its been a few days please let me know anything. The radio pisses me off

A few questions before I can even attempt to help:

1) Are they your own 'burnt' cd's?

2) Have you tried to play 'burnt' cd's in the past and this is a regular store bought cd?

/

I have played both and the first time it wouldnt work on a burnt but now it stopped on a original. And wont play either of them

I take it that it is the factory radio as well?

If that is the case (factory radio) it will not play burnt cd's (age of the radio, NOT compatible with the MP3 setup). It may have once (lucky if it did), but since you tried to play a burnt cd, it will now not play store bought cd's. This has happened alot since the advent of cd burners, most ppl think that since its burnt on a disc that it should play. But due to the age of the player (this new format was not even conceived back then) it will not, and not only that, but once you try to play a burnt cd in one of these kinda players, it seems that it messes up the communication of the laser so it will not even play store bought cd's. You may get lucky, and it will play a store bought cd from time to time, but for the most part it will not. I am not sure why this happens, but I have seen it first hand on several different manufacturers.

Sorry to say this, but your best bet might be to get another factory radio (why I have NO idea) or buy yourself an aftermarket radio and be done with that problem altogether.

I Agree...

Don't worry... you can buy a wire harness that will make it a plug and play...

Not a hard thing to do...

Im just stupid because im the kinda person that has to do everything at once so when i get an after market head unit i have to have the whole stereo done same time but that just my problem. I played burnt cds from the first day i had it. That was the 1st time tryin a real one

Thanks Ray... I know you are into the electronic thing...

I never knew a burnt CD could ruin the laser's ability to read. The JVC head unit in my 95 started having issues this might explain it. At least I have my changer yet. Changer seems fine.
