A/C help please

Does anyone know what in the world the A/C hose assembly is and a manifold assembly. These are the things i was told by a mechanic that i need. Is there a pic somewhere i can see these parts.

need some more info.. what year???

the manifold and hose assy may be multiple parts also.. some cars have manifold assy's on the compressor, some have them in the firewall area, some both. basically a manifold assy is a hunk of metal with multiple in/outs on it...
