I am going in next week to replace my clock spring because I'm getting the 3-2 air bag code, the stereo controls are all screwed up, last week the horn started malfunctioning and now my a/c is blowing hot air on the driver's side but nice cold air on the passenger side. Could the a/c problem be linked to the whole clock spring issue? Any input would be appreciated.

thanks for the reply and the links, I didn't know it was called the DCCV. All the links game me some much needed info. I may be able to replace this myself. I will let you know how I make out next week when I am on vacation.

just a thought, if the DCCV is malfunctioning due to all the crud in the cooling system, then why can't it be cleaned with a good quality rad flush or at least remove the DCCV and clean it in some kind of cleaning solution. I would rather clean it then replace it and save all that money. Any thoughts?

Does cleaning work?

Has anyone tried just cleaning their DCCV? I'm kinda curious to see if that would work....

when it blows hot air out one side turn the a/c switch off, leave the fan on, turn the temp up all the way an then back down and turn the a.c back on. works for me sometimes.

Mine blew hot air on the passenger side and cold on the drivers. I topped off the freon (about 4 months ago) and it hasn't happened since. The above trick was also working on mine. I was convinced it was the DCCV, but i guess not.
