I've got a 99 town Car that i just put a new manifold on and i have yet to get all of the 4gal of coolant it say to put in. It also seem like there isn't any coolant in the hose from the radiator to the thermostat. Its just hot and soft. How can I fix this? Thanks.

I can take a look in the 2000 TC shop manual for a drain and refill procedure after work today.

Sounds like you may have an air pocket trapped someplace???

Maybe it won't take the whole 4 gallons if you didn't get all the coolant out of the block when you drained it???

Filling-Bleeding procedure from Ford Workshop Manual (for 2000 Town Car):

1. Add coolant to the degas bottle until coolant is between the coolant fill level marks.

2. Select maximum heater temperature and blower motor speed settings. Position controls to discharge air at the AC vents in the instrument panel.

3. Run engine until it reaches operating temperature.

4. Add coolant to degas bottle

5. Turn off engine and allow cooling system to cool.

6. Repeat steps 1 thru 5 until the degas bottle level is OK

7. Start the engine and allow to idle. While the engine is idling, feel for hot air at the AC vents.

Seems pretty straightforward... Hopefully this helps.
