98 trans install.

most likely. a jmod'd w3z2, even a w3z3 could spin the tires on a 1-2.

I know for a fact that a 94 Z4H0 can do it with stock gears because my black one done it lol. That was with leaving the bottom spring out though. So, there's no doubt the W3Z2 will surely do it. It's the only one with the 15psi higher line pressure. I could just imagine what yours was like with your gears. I could see where you would have to get it lowered.

my w3z3 would do it stock +150k miles. w3z2 did a little more. but the z3 was still pretty hot.

the difference came here, after the gear swap, the w3z3 would sometimes limiter bounce the 1-2 shift. the w3z2 would not cuz it shifted a little faster.

Did you leave out any springs or keep them in? Glad to see the electrical internal swap went ok and j-mod. Wasn't anything to it now was it? You'll be glad you done that j-mod. If you have the same ECU as me and Chris, you shouldn't need a chip because that particular ECU has 15 psi more pressure than the rest of the ECU's, unless it's chipped. That's most likely why Chris had to have some of his line pressure reduced.

there was nothing to the internal swap!!! i made a video of it, and took lots of photos!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

i left the springs out :burnout:

Nolimit, I can't remember..did you jmod the trans in your 95? I've been wanting to do it with mine but haven't seen anyone do it to a stock 93-95 trans. Anyone have a walkthrough on the proper drilling procedures for a 95 trans..I know they aren't all the same, there was one guy on here a while back who jmodded his trans with the wrong year specs and supposedly it did it shift properly..or at all.

sense ive been looking at the internals of both transmissions today i would say they are the same as the 98 transmission.

I dunno about that..they may look similar at a glance but the holes in the valve body don't all line up and aren't in the same locations as well as being different sized holes throughout the years..being that the 98 trans is the most different from the rest I kinda doubt the drilling procedure is the same..could be wrong though.

The locations of the holes change locations. A few were added in later years I believe as well.

I had to hunt down and find one of the holes that moved on me from year to year when I did my 93.

And you have never seen anyone do the jmod on a stock car? Really? I did it.

Kevin, I have the new gaskets under my bed so that no one can get to them and bend them but I do plan on doing it this Spring. I kinda hibernate in the Winter and don't do much lol. I still have 8 brand new Iridium plugs and a new SS 2.5" cat back exhaust with new Magnaflow mufflers and muffled Magnaflow X with the new Pypes tips, just sitting. I haven't even opened the exhaust box since I got it over a month ago. I'll get to it soon though.

As for the J-Mod on a 95, I too would like a detailed drill spec for the 95 trans. I know they have the one link but I want a few to choose from, with some pics. Sometimes I read stupidly but I can see pics and understand better. :p

They are the same for the most part but the line pressure solenoid is different. It might not look different but it takes a different ohms input than the 98 does. Can't remember if it's higher or lower without looking it up but that's really the only thing different besides the fact that you're removing the circuit strip and installing the wiring and plugging in all your 95 parts that you put in. Seems like there are 4 parts that are changed? I haven't done it in three years. Don't forget to change the MLPS too. Make sure your shifter link is in it's place. That's the part you would have removed when you changed out the line pressure solenoid. I hated that part the most out of all of it but it wasn't really hard. Just time consuming.

Do your self a favor and cut the little tab off of the bell housing. It's at the 2 o'clock position when looking at it from the front. It will make install allot easier.

I have a 98 trans in my 95 and only thing I swapped over was the MLPS. I also have the BE Controls kit with a 10" 2800 stall

You must have re-pinned the harness instead. Some go that route. The 93-97 trans has 3 positive wires where the 98 only has one and a couple of other wires have to be re-pinned for it to work right but mainly the line pressure solenoid and MLPS is what has to be changed. Either way, if any electrical parts are swapped out inside, all of them have to be because the 98's are made for the strip whereas the 93-97 are made for the plug in from the wires.

And of course I broke my damn exhaust bolts, so drilled them.

Not really what I meant..I just haven't seen anyone post a thread about doing a jmod on a 95 trans..is what I was getting at.

I put this in another thread as well, here are the basics.
Truck/car valve body is calibrated different- swap the valve body over with the electronics/harness.Car 98 ->97 swap the pins or swap the harness over.Gen 2 -> Gen 1 harness swap.. at some point the resistance change on one of the solinoids. Might be safer to swap the electronics.98 and up the teeth on the output shaft for theSpeedo*went from 7->8 then to 9. Depending on the gear ratio a speed cal would be in order.2003/2004 the vss pickup count changed. Software can fix that . If I remember right on the later ones it went away.99-2003 mustang trans is a easy swap.2001 and up 5.4 2wd*f150*will need a valve body swap along with the harness but they do have all the good parts in them.

Spend the money on stainless and reassemble with Anti-seize. I never understood why ford made a stainless exhaust and assembled it with sub-standard steel bolts.

thats what im planing on doing. got me some stainless bolt and some antiseize yeasterday.

so i went to get my car threw inspection, and it failed and said i needed a driver's side mirror. so i went to pull it off like it said in the book, and it broke the mounting points on the back of the mirror. so i ordered one from the local junk yard.

i had to double side tape it in place

anyone have any tips for removing the mirror glass???

I believe the glass is snapped in place into the mirror motor..practice taking one off on a junkyard mirror first if possible.
