Trying to decide if it's time to get rid of my 98. I was going to do a coil conversion next weekend. This past weekend I was changing plugs and found quite a bit of oil in 2 of the chambers and a small amount in 2 others. I don't really have time to do both jobs next weekend and not sure that even want to tackle the valve covers. I know I don't want to pay a shop 6 hrs. of labor.

I guess my question is... Would anyone on here be interested in the car?

Pretty good cond.

- new sway bar links but needs rest of front susp.
- will need valve cover gasket soon
- neon not working

Just clean out the wells and drive it. Its not the end of the world if mk8's take alittle oil in wells.

That's what I was thinking of doing but it seems that it was bad enough to cause a misfire. Changed plugs and cleaned things out and it seems to run fine now. One of the plugs was almost submerged. Not sure what is "too much."

But you have to realize the oil accumulated in there over thousands of miles. Keep driving it, check the wells in 5k miles and see whats in there.

Noted.
Thanks for the advice!

Once again, can't thank this forum enough.

Yep,mine used to be bad about it but over the last 6 months i havent found any oil on the plugs.I guess she healed herself??LOL
