Drove down to Chesapeake Va to pick up a couple seats, along with one rear seatback cover and 4 chrome wheels in almost perfect shape. My car is a basic but we installed LSC seats, now all I have to do is find someone to do the seatback r&r. One guy wanted $500 for the seatback......I got a little upset with him and asked him if it looked like I fell off the morning turnip truck.....I also mentioned when I was young my dad told me to NEVER let ANYONE rob you with a pen.....I think he saw some old senior citizen and tried to take advantage......No boss, never happen!. Back to Sonny. Wonderful person to do business with, really helpful in that I couldn't r & r the seats myself so he had someone there to remove and install, he could have told me "Their you're seats, deal with it but he didn't .......Back to the trip.....Drove over 1200 miles, 24.4 mpg, used maybe a 1/4 qt of oil. Purred like a kitten.....154589 mi. 154xxx miles, lowered 1", rear air shocks w/50psi, LSC seats and rear seat back, chrome wheels, drilled and slotted rotors w/ceramic brake pads, mild shift kit chirps going into 2nd, southern car no rust, 245 50 16 Kumo tires.........And tada, has original JBL speakers. I've owned this car since June of 2013......Best car I've ever owned
Leather or even cloth reupolstery can be very expensive; it's labor intensive, especially when it has to be custom manufactured. I had it done on my 928, well over a grand for both front seats. You'll pay for quality work. Compare your costs to exotics, not the Ford Escort seat covers you get from the local Autozone. For reference, check out Rennlist, the Porsche forums. You'll start to understand just how ungodly expensive real grand touring cars can get. I bought my mkviii because of the costs of my 928, and lack of any mechanics willing to work on them. Figured since the LIncolns are basicallyl Fords with a fancy trim package, the costs would be less, and as far as mechanical repairs, I've been right. But concours? OMG, it gets expensive. Even trying to track down a rare interior trim piece is hard and expensive.
Yes, rides similar to my 928, up to the limits, anyway, where the Porsche would start to demonstrate it's slightly better capabilities. But for my purposes, the mark is just fine. I no longer race my cars anywhere.

Thanks for the input nightfly......Here's how it is......I had the replacement seat back I bought from Sunndayout.....All that was necessary was remove and replace the seat back cover I even removed the bottom cushion.....anyway I found someone to do the work (professional shop) for a buck 20......Completed in less than a hour with some conversation thrown in, really a nice person.....A product is worth what someone is willing to pay for it even if it is too much I agree but I will not allow someone to take advantage of me to the extent this fellow tried.
