98 lincoln mark 8 radio has power no display?

i'm trying to troubleshoot a 98 radio. it has power to the face EXCEPT display. i have switched to a known good radio same thing?

so what troubleshooting have you done?
did you check the fuses? wiring?

i cant figure out why the rafio has power and the buttons are illuminated but no chanel display or sound. swapped radio still no sound

the radio gets power from several different places. like, 3 that i can think of.
the 2 power wires, constant and switched. and the backlighting is linked to the dimmer and dash lights.

so start checking for power feeds.

sounds like the radios off, no constant/switched power.

so again, check the fuses.

but the fuse locations are listed in the owners manual.

I'd break out the multimeter and start checking wires. Here's one more that may be of use.

Have you checked for power on the radio connector yet (C257 pictured above) on Pin's 6 (should go on with key on) and Pin 8 (power all of the time)
