Hi you Lincoln folks,

I just replaced 98 continental air suspension compressor pump, yet it sounds louder & vibrates a bit when pumping
we replaced the 2 rear air suspension bags (a year apart) already.

I've heard this same sound, 2-3 years a go & then it stopped this louder pumping sound with a bit of vibration but I think the elevation to a higher ride height stopped at that time too but I didn't notice.
On replacing the pump, it now goes to the higher ride height.

The new pump bought, from on-line parts place $107: needed to use the old dryer because new dryer was too big to install, so used the old factory dryer.

a mechanic says "Not the dryer, maybe a cheap Chinese mfg pump, its louder but it works" but suggests 'get used to it'

But this sound occurred 2-3 years ago with the factory pump

Any idea of the issue causing louder vibrating pump? so I can fix it..
thanks for your thoughts KD

is it louder than the original one? mine seems to be loud but it only does it during starting up and whenever there are changes in the load of the vehicle. usually it only takes a few seconds (5 secs max) to pump and then nothing after that. how is the condition of the original mounting point for the compressor? is it still intact?
