97 Mark VIII vs G6 GTP

Well I was on US-17 which is a three lane road. I was in the right lane and the GTP was in the middle lane. The light turned green and we both went at it. I gained half a car lenght on him from the start. He was right beside my door at 55 MPH when I shifted it to second and left him. At 80 MPH, he was 2-3 car lenghts behind me. I slowed down and gave him a thumbs up an turned right into my community.
It was a white G6 GTP, the coupe. I thought the GTPs were fast or maybe the driver just sucked.

They are low 15/high 14 second cars. They are NA 3.9 pushrod V6 with VVT and about 245 horsepower.

The older GTP's were supercharged, and in stock trim ran about the same as the G6 GTP (~15.0). The thing with the supercharged versions is that they are very conservatively tuned from the factory, and just a few supporting mods will put them into the 13's.
