I am the owner of a '97 Lincoln Continental with dreadful gas mileage. Recently replaced:
-Spark plugs
-Plug wires
-1 coil (out of 2)
-fuel filter
- new oil change
-Seafoam tune up
Funny thing is, the car runs great, has plenty of power at cruising speeds, and yet it barely reached 150 miles on a tank of gas last week. Idle is smooth, but the gas mileage declines drastically. Computer reads 24mpg at cruising speeds. The computer is basically, right, in my eyes. I'm not going to argue filling up with $60 at the local gas station and not getting through the week. I have read the forums and from what I can summon from my knowledge is that the problem could be in the catalytic converter, the 02 sensors, or the IAC. Thanks for reading, and if you have some suggestions please, throw them my way.
Cheers
