Hi,

I am selling my 95 lsc and i dont want the new owner to get stranded somewhere with a bad fuel pump, never knowing what hit them.

The car turn over after about 5 seconds and sometimes even runs a bit rough for another 2-3 then runs fine. pulls strong, and is faster than my 04 lincoln ls (yeah, remind me why im selling? no where to park it :() Faster why? shift kit, intake, and LS has no mufflers!?!?! previous owner thought that was a good sound? WTF is wrong with people...anyway, thats probably killing me off the line making my ls feel like poo compared to the 9 year older mark 8.

i checked fuel pressure, goes up to 40+psi, then leaks down rather quickly. Is this the fuel pump? My buddy happens to have a spare, that works, and that he can put in for $100, but im not spending money on this car. So ill direct the next person. But im wondering if this sounds like the problem, or does it sound like an injector, or ?

maybe the relay?

anybody ever have this problem?

Oh, and if the car gets below 1/4 and im exiting one freeway and entering another via those loops but going up, the car nearly dies...so thats scary and dangerous, but i probably shouldnt let it get that low on gas anyways. :shifty::shifty:

Sounds like Fuel Pressure Regulator, the tiny UFO looking thing by the fuel rail.

Car stalling out on ramps, my guess is you're making hard right curves - makes the fuel Slosh over to the left side of the tank- the pump is on the right...and yes, running a car with a pump that's IN the tank near empty isn't the best thing ever. This creates several issues, 1) the pump needs to be cooled, gas is the pumps coolant, 2) when running bottom tank fuel, you're more likely to be sucking up debris from the bottom of the tank, and then sending it thru your pump/filter/ and injectors

I'd toss a new filter in there as well, this wouldn't be your pressure loss issue however, but since you drive on fumes, I'm gonna say its probably dirty

not fumes per se, just anything near or under 1/4 tank. I usually keep it above 1/4 because i am aware that this is a good way to kill a pump, and foul up a filter.
