95 Driver Door Latch

I am looking for a 95 door latch. My message center says that the door is ajar and when I bought the car the guy told me he put a new cable in and never hooked the wiring up to the latch. Sure enough it got a new cable and the wires were not hooked up. So I hooked them up and it still says ajar. I believe the sensor at the bottom of the latch is the one that tells it if its open or not. If it is the one it wiggles and I believe it is broken. If anyone has run into this problem and knows an answer that would be great. If not I am looking for a latch so at least I can try it. Thanks Eric
 
wd-40 into the latch mechanism and open and shut the door over and over till the message goes off.
 
I will try it but I am not sure that it is the answer to it. The door shuts and opens really nice with out any troubles.
 
thats not the point of the wd-40 in the latch. the wd-40 is to break the door ajar sensor free inside the latch, got nothing to do with how good or bad the door opens and closes!
 
or if you want it to work buy PB blaster instead, wd is crap.
yup as stated above spray the hell outta the latch and slam the door 20 times or so
 
i only use pb blaster in my shop. it was just easier to type wd-40, i dont use wd-40 though so how do you like them apples chicken slut.
 
I just found a can of Advance Auto MPL in my trunk and saturated the heck out of my latches on both sides. I haven't had a chance to repeatedly slam the doors yet because I'm still at work. Hopefully I can do it when I get home. I have this problem also. Is the sensor supposed to wiggle loosely? I would think it should be pretty tight. Mine wiggles on both doors like they're mounted with one of those push-pin type attachments.
 
Well I tried the pb blaster and I shut the door prolly 50 to 100 times and it didnt work. Any suggestions on how to trick the computer to thinking its shut. The buttons on the dash dont work till the door is shut. I would like to use them at some point. Thanks Eric
 
Yeah we all know these parts are not easy to find so I dont think that is an option. Thanks for the suggestion. LOL

you could unplug the switch. it will never show the door open though so the radio will stay on. if you unplug the switch and it still says door ajar then you got a broken wire in the accordion tube at the front of the door into the body
 
I will check for that tomorrow. I just wish I had a wiring diagram so I could know what wires I could test. I am not exactly sure what sensor is the door ajar one cause there was 3 unplugged originally and now they are all plugged in. So I guess I need to look for the broken wire. ajar light on before and after. If you have a diagram that would be awesome. Thanks Eric
 
i got some gotta do some diggin dunno if i got that, the sensor is at the very bottom of the latch kinda "L" shaped
