95 Conti transmission fluid changes

Sup,

I need to get the tranny fluid replaced/changed/whatever in my 95 conti. I have heard from some that the filter should be changed and from others the filter shouldn't be changed. I gotta changed the filter this time..........the damn lincoln dealership said it had probably never been changed. My family has owned the car since 97 and i dont ever remember getting it changed so that is probably right. Car has 52,000 miles and its a 95! Mercon V right? Anything else to look out for?

Always change the filter. It's only $12-18 from Ford. Mercon V is recommended...

i would say go with the Tranmission flush and the Filter change it is a bit more costly but it,s worth it

I thought mercon v is not called for in the 95 to 97 cars. You can get mobil 1 synthetic that supports mercon and would be great long term.
