ok i've been hittin all the local pull it yourself yards for marks parts. i've only found one with the factory switch located between the two map lights. the other 4-5 ive seen theres just a switch with no lights so to me that seems aftermarket. now what im wanting to know is on the outside is there supposed to be a seal between the roof metal and the sunroof itself? mine has a about a 1/4" gap all the way around and until recently i never thought anything of it until i got to noticing on pictures everyones has a seal. i have a large sub setup and the sunroof tends to flex out about 3/4" on the low notes. because of this recently it started to leak when it rains. drivers side front corner has only done it 2-3 times passenger front corner does it most of the time. now the rear edge doesnt drip into the car it runs back the where the sunroof motor is and puddles the rear seat. where it comes from by the s.r. motor it soakes the headliner which is causing some sagging and my headliner was flawless until this. any advice is appreciated and if anyone has any tips to "brace" or help withe sunroof flex that would be great. and dont say turn the bass down thats not an option lol.

also i remember reading something about sunroof drain tubes that rundown to the rock panels could these have rattled loose?
really dont wanna tape it up but its getting to be that season here. also this is a rust free car any tips to keep it that way?

from the glare i cant tell. but is there a seal between frame and the roof? seems like there should be like a gasket between there

Yes, There is spost to be a rubber and felt seal around the glass and roof if you have a chrome strip around the glass its most likely factory, if only glass and no strip its after market, probly made by ASC. I need a new seal

cool thanx fellas i know what to keep my eyes out for if you find some for sale let me know n ill do the same

so i finally found one from a mark and figured i'd get the one out of the cougar that was settin next to it as it looked brand new and of course they r the same. now my question is how do i get it on my car i fought with it for about an hour and cant squeeze it in there.

i figured it out. there is no way that im even gonna touch my headliner. so droppin the sunroof was off the table. i got to looking around and seen a dish soap bottle and thought about how u mount a tire. so i raised the sunroof lubed the seal with soapy water and it slid right in

Thanks jbelcourt, i scored 2 more saturday found out cougars and t-birds have the same ones

chris2523 i've just been trying to put the seal on. why would i have to pull the sunroof to do so

you're trying to install the seal without removing the sunroof?

you're gonna have a bad day...

Headliner does not have to be touched..not even the access panel..so long as the motor still works and the sunroof can be operated you can get to all the screws by just tilting the sunroof up..I'm not positive if all sunroofs are taken apart the same between all the years but I know for a fact with a factory 96 sunroof all you have to do is tilt it and you should be able to get to the screws from the sides and remove the glass.

i didnt have to remove anything. i just raised the sunroofand put it on around the back of the sunroof then used soapy water to lube it and squeeze it between the roof and the sunroof then opened the sunroof and worked it around the front. worked great no more puddles in the seat when i leave for work and no more wind noise on the high way
