8.8 Cobra

Is this a good deal for $350 and would it work in the 95 in the pic below? I think the splines would be different or something but like I have always said, I'm not into modding very much. I do think I would like some good gearing though and leave the motor alone.

8.8 rearend from 98 Cobra Mustang with 4.10 gears. Only has 40,xxx miles on it. Comes with rotors but no calipers. Also has tubular upper and lower control arms.

Gear and diff.... yes. They were 28spline. But price seems high to me unless gears were still new and trac lok was newly rebuilt, but then you can still find that stuff cheaper.

You'd have to set the gear up all over again anyway.....




Buying used gears is such a crap shoot. They can be brand new and installed incorrectly and be trashed.

I'll make you a sweet deal on a trac lok that needs rebuilt. Rebuild kit is only like 78 bucks and you can do it all yourself. They are cake

I'll text him back and tell him nvm about it. I didn't know if it was a good deal or not and yes, not knowing how those gears were treated would bother me because they are out of a Cobra 5 speed and I'm sure they have had their share of abuse.

He just texted me back and asked if the Mark had IRS and I told him yes and then told him to not worry about the whole deal with me getting it.

Getting 4:10's isn't something that is on the top of my list right now anyway. Just mainly wanted to know if it would work and if that was a good deal.

White Opalescent LSC front bumper is what's next in line. Just waiting on the man that has it to reply back about shipping it. Already have the 4 side pieces and they'll have to be painted and I'll let them go ahead and paint the chrome strip on the rear bumper to match and leave it at that.
