Looking for something better then stock. I am trying to avoid loosing trunk room / having to put down the rear seat to get bass. So I am looking to upgrade the subs in the rear deck.
Because the factory subs are two ohms, the factory amp will need to be changed too for proper performance.

Anybody ever try these?

I had a friend who did something similar and it didn't sound all that well. Well I guess in my perspective it wasn't loud enough. I'll sterotype a little here and assume that your not in your teenage/younger years due to wanting trunk space, so having little subs like those might be sufficient.

Although you are probably aware of it but the factory subs that lincoln includes drop down pretty far into the trunk, so when they are removed it leaves quite a bit of room. Personally I would buy a single 12" or maybe even a 10 if you really want that extra room and just put it in the smallest enclosure the manufacture recommends and mount the amp right against the back seat or even ontop of the box. I wouldn't worry to much about putting the seat down, I have two 12" Fi Q subs in a sealed enclosure and they get really loud even through the seat. If I were to put them in a ported enclosure it would get even louder but lose some sound quality so thats why im staying with sealed.

Hope all that helped and if you decide to get a single 12 or something along that route I can help you pick something out and get you a good deal on a few items. :)

I used to have two 10" MTX 7500s and a MTX 801 class D amp, but I didn't have any trunk room. I just bought 2 8" memphis audio subs and I had a 175W class D amp from a previous install. The 8s in my LS blow the 10s away, not to mention they take up very little room in a small ported box. I don't think you'll do much better than the factory 6x9s for bass in the factory location, but I would recommend checking out 8's. I couldn't and still can't believe how the ones I bought sound. I'd even put them up against some name brand 12's. I don't listen to rap but they work great for country and rock and roll and probably classical.

havent heard either of those, but CDT makes a good product. one product i have heard and would recommend is the following. it's not a 6x9 but will probably sound better and give you a little more bang for your buck.

it was originally called the Eu-700 but is now the 7Kv.2

It is basically a 6" sub but you would never know by the sound of it. i actually have a couple of these waiting to be installed in my car, and i had a friend who had 4 of them in her truck and they were great. 4 of them sounded better than a lot of dual 10" setups i have heard. running 2 of them will sound sound very clean.

you can also do a little research at icixsound.com, they have a ton of good info on that product.

that wouldnt be a direct replacement but would go easily with a mounting bracket for the 6x9 location.

Hey guys thanks for the replies.
I don't have a single thing back there but I do like the idea having trunk space.
This Audiophile system is horrible!!! I am an audio freak but for now just wanting to get a little more lows & highs.

This is the system in my Mustang. It sounds incredible & is an unbelievable huge waste of money (I drive the car like 3 time a year)

I will have to experiment with the sub that's in my Diesel.
Phoenix Gold XS2500, RF 10" DVC, Audiobahn 1F cap.
I really need a quick disconnect setup to move between vehicles. Save some $$$
