6cd Player

I have a 2002 V8 and have been shopping for new 6cd changers because mines taking a crap. Are these cd players interchangeable from other fords. I found one from a F150 looks just like mine and has the same looking hook ups in the back. I dont want to buy this product offline if its not going to fit. I just figure Ford parts will fit other Ford parts.

Even though the radio's are similar, they are programmed different. The LS uses the SCP Bus network for the back lighting & speed sensitive volume. If your only having problems w/the 6CD changer(top part of the radio), you can swap them out w/ no problems & it is very simple to do. It's too bad you live so far away as I have repaired alot of these 6CD radio's. If the one you want from the F-150 has to be shipped make sure they put the unit in shipping mode before shipping so the changer does'nt get damaged. I have about 6 of these units, so if you need pics on exchanging parts, just PM me w/ an email.

The OP has a gen I LS, he's talking about the separate CD changer that goes in the glove box, not the gen II with the CD changer built into the radio.

Grab a 6cd changer on ebay for a indash 6cd changer for a ford pre-2002. Take the Changer out and swap it with your LS, JUST THE CHANGER. LS Radio stays in the LS guy.

Should just be a few ribbons holding the thing in along with a few screws.
