Ok, I've searched for the last half hour and have not found useful information with regards to installing 55w HIDs.

I have a kit in hand, with the appropriate relay wiring harness to keep the kit from flashing on and off. The only question that I have now is how others have installed this. Are you using a wiring point under the hood for the power source that runs directly from the battery, or are you finding a way to run these wires all the way to the rear of the car to the battery?

I'm tired of having these things sit around and not be installed, especially with winter coming up, any help is appreciated!

Run a separate relay from the box under the hood. There are spaces that are empty that you can draw power from.

Ok, so simply tap power with the relay harness from one of the empty spaces in the fuse panel? Electronics I am woefully inadequate in, so having said this, the unused relay space will have a section for me to run the positive wire and ground from the relay harness?

Thank You.

You can pick up a 5 point relay from an auto parts store for really cheap.

A good person to ask would be skizot. He has a REALLY nice HID setup. Send him a pm, he should be able to help.

But yes, all the empty spots under there are hot. Then maybe an inline fuse or something? I'm a novice at all that electronics stuff too.

Where I'm confused is that the relay harness that I was told to purchase includes a relay in line with the power source to the kit, as well as an inline 30 amp fuse. The ends plug directly into the ballasts, and at the opposite end are a pair of positive and negative eyelets.

Thanks for the suggestions pektel. I'm going to call the place where I ordered the kit from directly and see what insight they can offer, post that I'll bother another member here. ;) Thanks again.

pektel, thanks for the referral to skizot, got these all wired in as per both of your suggestions, and they work perfect!

Just for anyone else's information, the best way to tap power is the 10mm bolt coming from the side of the under hood relay/fuse panel. Simply pull that bolt, place your relay harness eyelet under, and return. Wire in the ground, and hookup your kit as per instructions and enjoy!

Thanks again go to pektel and skizot722 for all the guidance. It's very much appreciated! :wrench
