i dont nessissarly think it can take the mark that easily, i raced one a while back, and i beat him but only cuz he dropped out..but we were neck and neck untill like 60-65

doesnt matter anyways, you got style and class on your side too.

it may not directly bolt in, but probably with some modification it'll probably work. If you got the time and money, ANYTHING is possible.

your f***ed new mustangs run 13.6s, at least the sticks. also intake and exhaust wont get you close at all. do some real mods

The 5R550 transmission will mate to the 4.6L engine. As for length, you'll have to find some specs to see if it will directly bolt in. You'd also need a new driveshaft custom made for your car.

I drove both an Auto and stick mustang, and id have to say that auto's are not really that fast. They would run mid to high 14's. I dont think they are really as cool as eveyone thinks they are. I manually shifted in the auto and 2nd gear was real short. I dont think it would be a worthwhile swap considering its only 1 more gear and it really wouldnt do much for yah.

Exactly, trust me it's not worth the pain in the ass for 1 more gear. Just throw in a t-45 if you want 5 speeds!

13.6... Are you sure that's what the new mustangs run. Cause we have drag's here at this airport by my house every two weeks. and this guy with a 2005 gt 5 speed is there everytime.. and he does not run 13.6's. I know so cause he lost to my buddies 13.9 turbo miata. anyway, I dont think the 5speed auto would be a worth while swap. Might at well through in a 5 speed manual.. thats my plan. I love Winter...

I drove My Moms gt which I think has been chipped has flowmaster exahust and let me tell ya the thing kicks ass...I was at 140 like nothing...I dont think that theres much that can hang with it in its wrelm

My dad has a 02 Mustange GT and that thing does kick ass. I did'nt have much respect for it untill I drove it.

MM@FF reported a 13.4 with a bone stock mustang gt 5-spd, there also pros that race mustangs so they no the cars better then jo jack at the track. lol, I rhymed. Also, car and driver reported a 13.8 in the convertible which ways 165 more pounds. Are marks are quick, not that quick.

what about the computer

The computer is built into the Mustang's PCM. The harness will probably be different and have additional contacts, so that would have to be addressed as well. But if you could reprogram the Mark PCM to work with the tranny, it would be possible. But then again, the swap probably wouldn't be worth anything beyond a 2 MPG increase. It the 3V heads that make the new Stang...

over all is it worth it to get a 5 speed auto tranny into the mark or just get a rebuilt sift kit tranny for the mark

also from what i hear, the new gt's (2005 and up)dyno way over 300hp,they are underrated,i think car and driver or someone reptutable said they make more like 330hp at the crank,on 87 octane to boot.woohoo.

Same deal with the supercharged 03 Cobra- rated at 390bhp, but dyno'ed close to that number.

Ford's been underrating numbers since the flop with the 1999 Cobra being overrated. Ford claimed 320bhp, but dyno numbers showed a significant loss in power. They fixed the problem, but suffered big complaints from the Stang world- so they now underrate their cars for customer satisfaction.
