I was wondering. Would 2007-up 5speed auto box SR55S bolt up to a Mark VIII.
Or maybe an Aviator tranny, which is 5 speed as well I believe.
Would be cool to have an extra gear.

And if so, how hard would it be to make the electronics work.

not too hard really.

There is a stand-alone controller for the 5R55(Mustang tranny).A new driveshaft would have to be made but nothing too insane.

I have been talking with Baunman regarding the 6R60/80 (6 Speed Auto).

They are working on a Stand-Alone controller for it right now. Last I heard; it'll feature infinite shiftpoint adjustability, along with firmness. They also mentioned that it'll have paddleshift functionality as well.

What is nice about the 6R Box is the capability forlightning quick shifts, and the 4.1:1 1st gear ratio. THAT would be a neck snapping take-off even with 3.27's.

Or a complete lack of anything resembling traction :p

6-speed would be even better. I chose 5 speed due to its price. Found a 2007 one for 700 still in car. Cool stuff. If i even have to change the tranny, I would go 5-speed or even 6.

So it just bolts up. But is there a TV cable going from TB? Newer cars are throttle by wire. Just wondering how the kick down would be triggered.

do mark viiis have a tv cable? since the trans is all electronic and such, i dont think so..

i would love to stick a 6 speed in my mk.. any idea what it would cost total?

94m5: Please keep us informed, as you find out more information. It would be nice to upgrade from a 4speed auto to a 6speed auto.
