Going by the numbers.
So it's a daily driver, then......any change will have a trade off. Stock is most likely 3.08.
As the ratios go up the gas milage and top speed goes down. Although you'll acheive top speed quicker, the engine will be turning at higher rpm's at normal highway speeds so the gas milage goes down. Therefore, with the price of gas going to go up even more, differential swaps is not the most efficient change.
If it's street squrriels you're interested in hunting, a blower would you better results and even give you better milage (if the added power at the touch of the toes doesn't constantly seduce your ego).
Life has a way of always making the fun stuff have a trade off. Any change in the car will have them, and if your married these changes can have far reaching side costs.
Hope this helps.
