2011 Pioneer Avics models are out

Those are nice. I like the last 3, with no nobs

The last two of those three is the 920 series which are last year models. If you ask me the Z series didn't really changed that much.

the best part is that sonicelectronix has the new X model for cheaper than last years model by a hundred bucks, and the new Z is only fifty bucks more. damn the getting is getting good!

Yeah, I wish the 920 had the security faceplate as well. That's my prime concern with having gone through $7600 worth of repair crap the first time around with losing my F90BT.

i really don't think that the removable face plate will do too much for deterring dumb @ss thieves, i mean thieves are on of the more lazy type of dumb @sses out there, do you really think any of them are smart enough to realize that there is a small piece of the front missing before they try to rip it straight out of the dash?

my bet is no, they wouldn't figure it out until after the damage has been done and they get it home.

Good point, Loud. I guess I want to try and make my audio install as theft-proof as possible, but realize that there really isn't a way to totally achieve that. Some of what I considered doing after putting the 920 in were as follows:

1. Getting the cover that suctions onto the face of the receiver that makes it look like a cheap factory CD player. I've seen a couple pics of this, and don't know if it would be effective enough. The cover does stick out a little bit, so an "educated" thief would probably be able to tell that it's a fake cover.

2. Putting a towel over the dash to hide the receiver. Initially, I thought it might look like I'm just protecting the dash from the sun, but quickly realized that it would be more of an advertisement to a prospective thief - "look, I'm trying to hide my audio - come and rob this!"

3. Get some tint on the windows. I ended up doing this, but know that it won't be enough to prevent a theft. I did 30% on all doors and rear window which is definitely illegal in Michigan for the front doors - but am hoping that I'll be alright with it.
