I am assuming it will, but would like to get it confirmed. Would the OEM 6 disk cd radio from a 2006 plug right into the harness for a 2005? I also noticed that it has a button for SAT... can the satellite option be added without too much of a hassle? Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

As long as they're both the 6-disc in-dash changer (ie, you're not trying to put a THX/Nav head unit into a car with the Audiophile system), they should be a straight swap. They should both have the SAT button, and yes, the Ford/Lincoln Visteon Sirius unit is an easy install. It takes some time to do the cable routing, but the kit includes the correct amount of cable with the correct plug-n-play connectors (and antenna and everything else you need, other than tools and skill).

Also, there are kits out there for XM if you prefer. I installed one in my 04 Cobra and it was plug and play...and uses the factory head unit controls like the Ford supplied Sirius unit. Very easy install.

Thanks guys! Now I have to look for a new unit, I lost the one I was gonna bid for on ebay.

Hey I installed a 2006 6 disk with sat button in my 2005 ls with the cassette/single cd and it just plugs right in, all the plugs are there. I also installed a PIE adapter for my ipod at the same time and it sounds way better than any cd i have in the player. So don't worry about the hook up it will fit.

Any advice for a '06 THX system that is capable of Sirius, but the dealer says it's an add-on of $500?

Anyone install the Sat equipped head units from the 05-06 in a 2003?

Wow. My dealer offered it to me at $325 installed.

Sorry, you're out of luck with that one. The radios with the SAT button (generally 04 and up) are a different series of radio and all the connections are different.
