I have a 04 Lincoln ls v6 with 100k. I was wondering what the best way to get a huge power gain out of my car. I'd like to not swap the motor, I was able to find some forged rods from k1 tech but not much else. Also what transmission modifications (given 100+ hp gains) should be made if a turbo were to be added and how would I have to modify the computer to deal with a turbo? I'm aware that the motor and trans will likely need rebuilt and this project will take a decent chunk of change. Thanks,

Easy guys.... lets see first.

whats your budget, whats your background, whats you age?

I'm 21 and engineering student right now so money is tight. But I'd like to keep it under $10k . Something I didn't mention is that I have easy access to a machine shop (family business) and I will be working on this project with help of an engineer.

Spend the money on an S-Type R and bank the change......

although starting with a v6 seems odd,

Not that odd if you do research before buying an LS with the intentions of hot rodding it. The V6 has a better aftermarket than the V8. I mean, anything is better than zero...

Really though, the V6 can be built up with as many as TWO different companies' parts and some knowledge gained from the Taurus, Escort, Jaguar, Ranger, and Contour crowds. The V8 just has one shop in the midwest or something offering a 4.4L+ crank and rods.

That being said, a performance engine builder and an engineer are two different professions. That's not to say the person helping isn't an asset, but engineer+machine shop isn't exactly a golden ticket.
