2003 V6 Lost D4

Howdy,

I've lost D4. D5, 3, 2, and 1 all still work but move the shifter over and nothing happens. I'm guessing something is dirty or a switch has come loose.

How do you pull the shifter surround on a Gen II?

For the trim that is around the shifter and the ash tray, pull back on both sides around the ash tray. Then lift it up and out. For the shifter bezel itself, follow steps 4 to 6 in the link: http://deneau.info/ls/s6x~us~en~file=s6x75007.htm~gen~ref.htm

Is that for a Gen II? I poked around a bit this morning and didn't see anywhere to pull on around the ashtray.

It's item 3 below. I don't see how you can miss it.

I see the piece, its the where do you pull to get it loose. I didn't see any places to grab a hold up to pull on to get it loose.

Flip open the door over the ash tray and pull/pry the ear of the plastic piece in question at each side. You'll have to bend it back fairly far on each side to release it.
You can pull it up first from the back (between the shifter and the cup holder section) if you prefer, but it seems like it is less stress on the part to pull it from around the ash tray first.
