2003 was first year for 4R75W in stang. Did you buy the trans and if so how much?

its a 4r75w. like it matters though.
should drop into a 98, repin or connector swap for 93-97.

How can we say if its worth it if no price given? Plus im nosey.
I can probably pick it up for $300 if I really want it. I just don't know what kind of hassle its going to be.

What about the trans from a newer stang? A 5/6-speed auto would be nice in our cars.

no one makes a stand alone control unit. how would you make it shift?

Are you talking about the 6 speed? You afraid of no lock up? You think you would even be able to tell in any way from MPG to cruzing?

there has to be a difference in mpg. engine power is being lost in converter slip.
the overdrive on that thing also isn't even as good as a 4r. close, but why isn't it? i has 2 more gears than our trans.
if i'm gonna put up 7 grand, i would like to have lock up.
i would like something like the 6R from the new mustang. killer 4.17 first gear and a .69 od to boot. with a locking TC.

If you are making any real high HP you are NOT looking to gain 1-2 more MPG. Cuz your not going to have it to begin with. Not saying its cheap just wanted to show there is stand alone 6 speed auto trans out there. A good conv you can get slip down as low as 3%. Plus you dont have to worry about clutches in your converter. I have a Lentech street term non lockup AOD in my street stang no problems.

LOL 7200 does not work for me either!! But 7200 is the whole kit trans,bellhousing, flexplate ,shifter, standalone, cooler and fluid. But no converter!! add 750 most likely.
