I'm taking my new (to me) 03 (under warranty) in for some service next week. Specifically the rear passenger window, but I want to check if there is an updated tranny shift code available for quicker shifts. I would get the dealer to update it if its available. Right now, 3rd to 2nd is a bit sluggish.

Any info appreciated!

Yes it is programmable, I have the shifts on my 04 rock solid programmed through my XCAL.

Is there an update that the dealer can do?>

On the 03, I know there were updates, It depends on if they were already performed on your car. By the sounds of it they probably were not. Best way to find out is to bring it to the dealer and have them check the version of programming that is in your trans. The 03 and 06 cars have the same trans and the 06 cars shift really quick, so Im sure they can bump you up to an 06 trans program.

The harsh shifts are a known issue on the 2003 models.

To reprogram the PCM, the dealer should apply TSB #03-15-08. This TSB applies to vehicles built between 11/18/02 and 5/17/03. The dealer applied this TSB to my old 2003 LS and it improved the shifting significantly.

Tell the dealer "My transmission exhibits harsh shifts". If he writes those words down and does a search of TSBs, 03-15-08 should jump out.

:iconcur: Been there, done that with my '03 also.
"Harsh shifting" are the key words to use.
