I need to replace the headlight assemblies on the 2003 Ls I just bought. I have not had much luck online trying to find them. Does anyone know the best place to get these outside of the dealer. Thanks

they show up on craigslist every once and awhile.... +1 or the refinish and seal
how long will a refinish last before you need to refinish again?
and does anyone have a procedure/product they recommend?
I picked up a used headlight for cheap but its way hazier than my original. ive never needed to refinish polycarbonate, so i am clueless. youtube offers no good solutions. I tried 10mins of scrubbing with polishing compound & damp rags, no dice. tried toothpaste & water and damp rags, no dice. toothpaste & water & toothbrush, no dice. if i had to guess, it looks like someone lightly sanded it in the past. its smooth but has no shine compared to an untouched 2005 headlight.

You havent looked hard enough because theres tons of headlight refinishing videos on the tube, and what you need to do is wetsand, polish and reseal the lights.

did mine almost a year ago, still look brand new... followed this exactly... not only did they look new... fixed the leak i'd been chasing for years...

did you have hazy-ness inside the light aswell? i've buffed the outside but i still see crap on the inside. I figuired i would wait to take them apart and do it when i get angle eyes

I am going to sort-of follow that link that grell linked above... i hope the paint thinner/minwax is going to do the trick to get it clear. im going to hand sand and use turtle wax polish compound instead of buying the 3m kit
to the dude with the avatar of some HeMan-looking mother fcker in a suit: i think you just need to apply 2 coats of the minwax/paint thinner solution to your headlight and it will be good to go and match your other one. cleared mine right up. see the thread from grell above. mine looked about like the pictures you posted in your other thread; i skipped every step but the last (the one where you apply the minwax/paint thinner)
