I'm wondering what would be the best tires for me to purchase. I live in Michigan so we get our fair share of snow in the winter, and i want a tire that will not only be good in the snow, but also last a while. I have looked around and everything that seems like a good deal has mixed reviews. I will be using the tire as an all season tire and will be on the car all season. I was looking at some nitto neogens i believe they were called. These any good? If not what are your suggestions?

Having a dedicated set of winters is ideal and can easily cost about the same if you do not factor in the cost of an extra set of wheels. Just my $0.02.

I had a set of Nitto Neogens. Decent in the snow but not great. The thing I didnt like about them was they are uni-directional meaning they are right and left, not right or left. The way the tread pattern is you would think they were but they are not. When you look at the car from the back the tread pattern goes the same way on both tires and looks odd.

I was actually really considering that, having two sets of tires, but for right now its better for me to just get one set, since im kinda low on the $$ right now.

I didnt really think about that, and thats something that would bug me haha. Else would you maybe suggest?

I'm looking at the continental dws. From the reviews i've seen they're the best all season tire for snow.

I have used Continentals on my F150, 2wd for years, 2 sets so far, and had excellent results in ride, grip and no noise! Continentals & Michilens only tires considered for my Lincoln, Volvo or F150, with $$$$ considered. I have snow tires for F150 I use if I go to Montreal in winter with ice, heavy snow etc. Check Tire Rack. My .02!
