Need some help from the Lincoln guru's. I have a coolant leak and it seems that it is behind the thermostat housing and under the throttle body. My question is there a hose that runs through there or is it known for the rear housing for the thermostat to develop a leak? Also how much of a pia to get to this leak and is there anything I need to watch out for besides just a straight forward disassembly?
Thanks to all,
Jack

Again?????????

You missed what are the best coils, the best shocks, I get a miss but no CEL, etc.

Really? Short answer, yes the rear housing leaks, yes the part behind the rear housing leaks, and yes there is one hose under there.

Better answer below...

You need to do all this: http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/forum/showthread.php?91092-GenII-LS8-Cooling-System-Overhaul

(I know that you'll resist this, but either you'll do it all now, or do it bit by bit every few weeks for the next several months, or get rid of the car.)

Joe, you must be bored...... ;)

Well got it done this weekend after getting all the parts needed. It was the riser tube that goes in the backside of the thermostat housing. Only snapped one hose that goes from the throttle body to the valve cover. Other than that there was nothing to it. Thanks for ya'lls input!!!

Well found the next weakest link in the system. The radiator! So i guess i know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Well got it in yesterday, man what a pain, didn't have enough room to go in from the bottom. All seems well now. Didn't see any extra leaks once I got it back home, I'll check again this AM. Fingers crossed. Thanks for all the input guys.
