2002 LS V8 Non-Sport Transmission Part #

Hello, sorry for the basic question, (haven't been able to locate this in the forums for my gen 1) I'm trying to figure out which automatic transmission is in my 2002 LS V8 Non-Sport. Main reason being is that I'm trying to order a new solenoid pack and valve body from www.800700tran. Also do I need to replace the torque converter as well? Was originally planning on just having the Solenoid, Valve body and new filter/gasket kit and having all of that installed, hopeing that it would cure my really rough shifting (especially from P and R). Any insight is greatly appreciated!!!

After some more research, it seems that it is 5r55n transmission? After reading some other post, it seemed that the 5r55n was for the gen 2 ls and I wasn't sure if there was any difference with the gen 1 model.

You have the N. Should not need a converter unless you've had trash flowing through the system. You probably don't need the replace the valvebody, although there are somewhat common spring failures. IIRC, the solenoid is a good guess on the rough engagement.

N was in Gen 1, S in Gen 2 (with some overlap in '03).
