2002 LS Headlights - cover removal

Has anyone attempted to remove the covers off of their headlights? The ones currently on my car leak so I bought two new ones. What I would like to do is remove the covers and take out the ugly orange reflector for the side marker.
Before I crack this thing trying to do it, I would like some advice from anyone who has attempted this before. I do not want to damage it. I see it has an apoxy/sealant.
Help!

You bought 2 new headlight assemblies? What color is the sealant. If it's grey you can take them apart easily. Black? Not so much...
