I bought a 2002 Lincoln LS with 110k miles. I noticed the horn and steering wheel controls were not working, the traction conrol light was on and the car would beep when i put the car in drive 5 sets of 5chimes. I scanned the car and I got the following codes.

B1869 Lamp Airbag Warning Circuit Warning Indicator Circuit Open
B1932 Driver Airbag Resistance High
P1575 Seed Control Command Switch Out of Range
P1788 High Pressure COntrol Solenoid B Open Circuit

So far I changed the Driver Wheel airbag and Airbag clockspring. My horn and steering wheel controls are working fine but I still get the Traction Control Light and the airbag chimes. I am also still getting the B1869 and B1932 codes.

Any idea on these codes? And the traction conrol?

B1869 Lamp Air Bag Warning Indicator circuit failure

The SRS warning bulb in the cluster is burnt out or the wiring is bad or the RCM is bad.

B1932 Air Bag Driver Circuit Open

Did you check the connector under the driver's seat?

Traction control light - Is the ABS light not also on? Are you sure it is traction control and not AdvanceTrac? (The two are very different.)

If it's AdvanceTrac and the ABS light is not on, then it is going to be the YAW sensor or the steering angle sensor, or the system needs to be calibrated.

Yes it is AdvanceTrac light that was on.

Will that also cause the airbag beeping?

I am sorry, I though I was clear. The five sets of five beeps is because the SRS light in the cluster is burned out, or the wiring to the light is bad, or the RCM is bad.

ok I had it scanned again and um getting the following codes. are they related to advance trac?

c1287 booster pedal force switch circuit failure

c1288 pressure tranducer main / primary circuit fail

c1289 brake pressure sensor circuit fail

Yes, but they should be giving you an ABS warning light as well.

sounds like the ats module needs to be recalibrated. and check to see if the abs light comes on when you first turn the key to the run position before you start the car. to see if it isnt burnt out.

Ok ABS light was out. I replaced it and cleared the codes. Now it is still beeping and now the ABS light is flashing as well.

I am still getting B1932 Driver Airbag Resistance High

my mechanic thinks its the airbag clockspring even though we just replaced it with a used one. Before we replaced the clockspring the horn and steering wheel controls were not working. But after we replaced the clockspring with a used one they started working.

We also tried both airbags, the old one and the used one that came with the clock spring.

Also the AdvanceTrac light is still there also.

Do you guys still think the clockspring might be bad? Or what do you guys suggest?

Yes, it could be. I'd never waste time putting a used one on. It's a wear item. It's not a question of if it will fail, it's a question of when.

To get rid of the SRS beeps, you still need to fix the SRS light.

The ABS/traction issue may be as simple as a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors.

did you check the connector under the drivers seat like joe recommended? this is a pretty common issue for a wire or two to pull apart.
