2001 Smoke/ smell! Please offer advice

Hello,
My 01 V8 started smoking occasionally. The first time it happened I actually saw some smoke coming from under the hood. Now almost everytime it is driven I can smell oil burning I believe. The smell will come through the vents. It also goes in spurts, It will be fine and then as if a drop drips on the exhaust it smells for a minute. Is there a common oil leak with these cars that creates smoke or that drips on the headers? Any suggestions will help as my car is for sale I would like to not have this problem.

This is your best friend: THE SEARCH FUNCTION

You have leaking valve cover gaskets and oil is leaking onthe the exhaust manifold. Get those gaskets replaced. VERY common issue with the LS.

I just had mine replaced last week, and had the exact same symptoms you had. After a day, the burning oil smell was completely gone. Also, I just came back from a 150 mile round trip, not a scent of oil.
