Sorry to start a new thread , I couldn't find an answer searching through old posts , I recently purchased an HiD kit for my 2001 ls for the low beams , the bulbs are 10,000K and the ballast the came with them are 35 W that plug straight into the factory connector for the lightbulb , I also bought the fog light ones as well which are working perfect , my problem is that they worked fine for about 2 months , the bulbs are still perfect and have not blown , but the ballast are not working correctly anymore , the factory fuses under the dash keep blowing and the hids will not come on, of I replace the fuse and put the factory bulbs back in and disconnect the ballast the factory bulbs work fine , plug the hid ballast back in and try those the fuses will blow again , does this mean the ballast are bad ? Do they need to be placed In a better location than behind the lamp casing ? Or is the method of plugging ballast in straight to factory connector the worst way to do this ? I know I shouldn't up the fuses to a different size and the problem I have with wiring a relay is the ones available wont reach from the trunk to the headlights , any information is greatly appreciated , I am new to the hid world and have replacement ballast on the way , just looking to do the the most efficient and safest way for my car

My money is on bad ballasts. Especially as the factory parts work flawlessly.

Well I bought them off eBay, perhaps that's the problem, I have a photo but with the blackberry z10 I've yet to figure out how to post or what app available on blackberry will let me post photos on here

yea i bet its a bad ballast. if they work find with factory bulbs then the ballast are the problem. double check your ballast connections. negative to negative and positive to positive.
