Something has broken or ? The window can not go up all the way and you can grab the window and move it up and down ( to some extent ) by hand , pull it all the way up and it will just slide back down until it rests on the assy in the door.

Broken regulator? I heard there is some kind of "cable" as a part of this assy?

Anyone have any ideas and how difficult of a fix is this? Pics or manual would be great..........thanks!

Regulator. Not too hard if your somewhat mechanical and have the tools. There are a number of threads in this site about the issues and changing them out.

Good access to a manual that would work for you that a member of the site has made available:

Good places to get the regulator are Max located in the ad normally to the right, RockAuto.com or TascaParts.com if you can wait a few days. To keep the window up you can raise it up manually then put a strip of duct tape along the bottom. Use the white tape from Home Depot that does not leave a tape residue and is rated for outdoor use (Paint area). I personally would not use a Dorman product from Advance or other parts stores. They seem to have hit or miss issues.

Most of the time

most of the time, its the little plastic end clips that break. The regulator and motor usually do not break. There is a guy on ebay that used to sell just the clips for $10 and ship from overseas so it takes a week to get them, but they work fine. Or just buy the regulator without motor, swap old motor and reinstall. moderately easy to fix. can be done in about an hour first time.
