Hello,

I own a 2000 Lincoln Ls v8. I hear a grinding coming from the front pass. side under heavy braking. I have changed the wheel bearing assembly, as well as the brakes and rotors. I still get the noise. Any thoughts on my next troubleshooting step? Thanks. Also, it seems to be slightly intermittent, unless I am just not always listening.

might be a long shot, but reach under there and grab the sheild that is behind the brake rotor and pull it away from the brake rotor.

Sometimes when doing alot of front end work those little sheilds get ganked/tweaked over and they contact the rotor.

Hunstville? AL. er Tx.?

Could be the gliding pin on the caliper bracket. If that is seized, the brake pad can remain in contact with the rotor, even if you just replaced the rotors and pads.

Thanks for the info. I tightened the front motor mounts and the noise went away. Weird for sure, but so far so good.

BTW, its AL. but i'm moving to Houston in Sept.

My rear passanger caliper just seized on my trip back from buffalo I was going to rebuild it but it's winter here and too cold so I bought one from a salvage OEM 45 bucks! woot!!! Also ordered 4 new cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads cause i scorched the hell outta the old ones total 256.00

Priceless when she is running like a champ !
