2000 Lincoln ls v8 coolant issue

Hey new member, basically a Honda guy but had the lincoln passed down to me so decided to use it as a good DD even though gas mileage ain't great but ride is smooth.

So had an over heating issue, common problem,
Car over heats, turn it off and turn it on and car is fine.. Just an annoying problem to have.. Took it to backyard after backyard shop n no one can fix it, anyways did some searching and sounds like "cylinder head temp sensor" problem.

But most recent issue I have had, the thermostat housing basically dry rotted an exploded on me! Was looking for a DIY write up on here, can't really find any steps, pop the hood n take cover off and see hoses everywhere and don't know where to start! Any input would be great! Thanks guys!

You need to replace all the other plastic cooling system parts too, including the degas bottle. This is where your problem is, not the head temperature sensor. Read this forum and search a little bit. It's all here. Use Google site search instead of the built-in search. Here's a thread to get you started.
