I bought two LS key fob's off of ebay. I read somewhere that the 00-02 LS key fob's must be programmed by the dealer, rather than using the ignition programming sequence. Anyone know if that is true? Thanks!

Thanks. That sucks! In a 00-02, is it a 3 button or 4 button key fob?

Yep dealer time. My 02 has 4 buttons. I had to get an exterior keypad programmed. It is almost the same procedure to program remotes and I had to go the dealer.

To save money I bought 2 more keys(car only came with 1 key) and 2 key fobs and had them all done at once. I called around and got programming prices from 100 dollars to the low of 40 which I took.

That sounds like what I'll end up doing. Has anyone tried self programming the third key? (after your already have 2 working keys?)
