I just bought 18/7.5's DRIV Royals I'm thinking of going with 245/40's. I have the car sensor lowered and have had 245/45/17's on it the last 3 years. The offset on the wheel is 42. Should I be OK or can I go with 255/40's? Thanks for any advice. What is the best tire out there, All season and directional. I'm looking at Goodyear Eagles. I don't have a problem with directional tires. What I want is very aggressive and good looks with good performance

I have done a search here and other board. Everyone only talks about what is cheap. I don't care about cost, I want a great tire.

Go with a 245-50-17 and lose the wheel gap. Speedo will be spot on as well.

This tire is a lil harder to find and costs a lil more but will work well for ya.

255's are gonna be a lil too wide for that width wheel.

tires

well i hear you say money is no object but what i use is cheaper then the eagles, i bought 4 bf goodrich g force kdw 2s for my 18x9 speedstars, they are 245 series. my car is sensor lowered and i have a slight very slight rub on drivers rear fender. well all i can say for the performance of the tire is that its hard to break traction standing still. the handling response is great. i have them at 47 psi and can take any corner with confidence. every once in a while i play around and do the slalom test on a two lane road and with old rear end parts and worn out shocks and the such the car just grips and points wherever i put it, very hard to get them to break. i love the tread pattern and i got them mounted balanced and everything for a little under 900 dollars. the only bad thing about these tires is that they are noisy for the first 500 to 600 miles of driving. after that they are great

I have 245/45/17 Eagle F1 GSD3s on my ETC, I'm happy with them both at the dragstrip and at the autocross. Now it's much harder to break traction = less wheelhop, which is especially good for autox. Plus they have a stiff sidewall, great for handling especially in a big car like these, although they do sacrifice ride quality.

Falken Ziex ZE-512 great wet and dry .... I don't know about snow

I love them

I've got those in a 255/50/16 on my Mark. While I am satisfied with them for the price, they wouldn't be my first choice for dry traction, even up here the Mark will still light them up pretty good. They're OK in rain, suck in snow (due to width mostly.)
