1. how hard is a rear wheel bearing to change? is it doable or is it press in only?

2. can you replace a plain jane head unit with an alpine or are the plugs different?

oh..and will a second gen lse grill fit my 2000 or is there a special grill for mine. lsk says 03-06

I thought so, but I was on the 7th page of search with no answers

thanks

You must replace Alpine for Alpine and non-Alpine for non-Alpine. The units are not interchangeable because of the amp set-up.

All wheel bearings are pressed in one way or another. Even if they have bolts (like the fronts) they are still semi pressed in to a lip to hold them tight and secure.

Bolted in wheel bearings are kind of a thing of the past it seems.

I have a complete right rear hub with a new bearing pressed into it for sale. Make an offer.

i need left....:(

Due pay attention that some ppl had ploblem with the 2003-2005 LSE grilles going on the first gen....being that the "plugs" didn't go all the way in and wasn't so flush...I saw the thread a few months back but just a word of thought

oh and anything is possible with head units..but just remember quality/funtion will change...hell I put a Kenwood in my head unit and the alpine speakers (the stock speakers) just sound MUCH more crisp and clear.....hell it's like I got subs/amps already...it's badass :P

thanks..I also remember that thread

Trust me, mine is a freak occurrence.

The actual gap others are talking about is factory even on new LSes and not so noticeable. My gap was huge and was causing my grille to flex.

yes, I know how aftermarket head units sound, and "anything is possible" is not what I asked. I asked about the compatiblity of the alpine head unit versus the oe ford unit.

once again you click thru posts typing some kind of bable that you honestly have no idea about, makeing your post count rise. Dude sit back and learn somthing before you go posting...

you have been here only a few months and all you seem to contribute to posts are how much you owe in taxes, you do E, and you rub men for money...sorry to rant but :q:q:q:q dude...if the mods around here deleted every ha ha, lol, and stupid demotivational picture you've posted in the last 2 months im sure your count would be 5.

I remember you sayin that, but what was the actual problem? the grill or your hood?

?

I didn't get back to it yet. I put the stoker back on. I think I have to re align the hardware. It looks perfect but I guess any slight miss alignment will cause a problem.

thats cool...I really like the lse looks so I'm pretty sure i'll go with that..I've been ignoring the ls lately and playing with my bikes too much, so I owe it to her.. :)
